One week left

The
season is coming down to the end…with a week left in the season we are still
in first place by 1 game anything is possible out here…you cant get
comfortable…we played games were we were leading by 10 runs and the other
teams came to tie in late innings…it happens alot out here…there are alot
of great talent and hitters here in the fall league so you never know what can
happen…

The Washington
Nationals GM called me a couple days ago and told me some exciting news…

Then
he broke the good news…he told me that I had made the 40 man roster…it was
the greatest new I’ve heard since I’ve been playing pro ball…I called all my
family…I broke them the news and they were so excited for me…the whole day
friends and family back at home were calling me congratulating me…I was
exciting to hear what everyone had to say about me…

The
news broke so fast in my family I only got to call my mom and dad…I got off
the phone and tried to call my brothers but they already knew…my parents had
already broke the news….

Getting back into the swing of things

TO ALL READERS,

I JUST GOT BACK TO ARIZONA AFTER GOING HOME TO A FUNERAL. I WENT HOME ON OCTOBER 26TH AND JUST GOT BACK ON THE 2ND. WHEN I GOT BACK, I WASN’T SURE HOW I WAS GOING TO GET INTO THE SWING OF THINGS SINCE I MISSED A WEEK OF BASEBALL.

THE MONDAY I GOT TO THE FIELD, I WENT TO SEE THE MANAGER AND LET HIM KNOW THAT I WAS BACK AND READY TO GO. I DIDN’T PLAY THAT DAY, BUT I WAS REALLY EXCITED TO GET BACK OUT THERE WITH THE TEAM.

MY FIRST GAME BACK AFTER THE WEEK I SPENT AT HOME, WE WERE IN A RACE FOR FIRST PLACE WITH MESA. BOTH TEAMS WERE TIED WITH THE SAME RECORD OF 16-7. THE WINNER WOULD BE IN FIRST PLACE ALONE. WE WON THAT GAME, BUT NOT WITHOUT MESA GOING OUT WITH A FIGHT. WE WERE WINNING 12-2 IN THE 6TH INNING
AND MESA RALLIED BACK TO TIE THE GAME. WE ENDED UP WINNING THAT GAME IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH WITH A WALK-OFF DOUBLE BY DAN MURPHY.

MY FIRST AT-BATS BACK FROM THE WEEK OFF WENT PRETTY WELL. MY FIRST AT-BAT, I DREW A WALK, BUT I DIDNT FEEL COMFORTABLE AT THE PLATE. MY SECOND AT-BAT I GOT A GOOD PITCH TO HIT AND I LINED OUT TO THE CENTER FIELDER. AFTER THAT APPROACH, I GAINED SOME CONFINDENCE BACK IN MYSELF. MY THIRD AT-BAT I GOT A BASE HIT THAT DROPPED IN FRONT OF THE CENTER FIELDER.

IT’S WEIRD HOW BASEBALL WORKS: YOU HIT A BALL AS HARD AS YOU CAN HIT IT AND IT GETS CAUGHT AND THEN YOU HIT A BALL OFF THE END
OR GET JAMMED AND YOU GET A HIT. ANYWAY…

MY LAST AT-BAT OF THE GAME I HIT A SINGLE AT THE FIRST BASEMAN. HE ALMOST MADE A VERY GOOD PLAY ON IT, BUT HE COULDN’T HANG ON TO IT. WHEN I GOT TO FIRST BASE, I MADE A JOKE BY THANKING HIM FOR MISSING IT. MY DAY FINISHED WITH ME 2-FOR-4 WITH A RUN SCORED.

RESPONDING TO THE COMMENTS

I WAS ASKED WHAT MY PLANS WERE FOR THIS OFFSEASON. AFTER I LEAVE THE ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE, I PLAN ON GOING HOME AND RESTING UP FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND THEN GETTING INTO WORKING OUT AGAIN. I DON’T WANT TO FALL BEHIND AND GET TOO FAR OUT OF SHAPE WHERE YOU GOT TO WORK YOUR BODY OVERTIME.

I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE COMMENTS THAT I’VE BEEN GETTING. IF THERE’S ANYTHING YOU WANT TO ASK FEEL FREE TO ASK AND I’LL GET BACK TO YOU AS SOON AS I CAN.

THANKS FOR READING…
